Taffeta is generally presented as a lustrous, shiny fabric. It has a very signatured feature, that its crispness is always making a rustle sound when rubbed gently. If someone mentioning Taffeta, the first image will always linked with umbrella, rain jacket and sports jacket.

Taffeta seems waterproof, but only those proceeded with special coating could be regarded as water-repelling.

Because of its shiny feature, it is often grouped together with Satin. They also share some other common features like their stiffness and applications. Usually used to create bridal gowns, couture dresses, prom dresses or other related products.
